With it finally being 2021 and the slow opening up of the pandemic life is starting to get back to normal. People are getting back in touch with reality and are starting to see that vacation and life are normal things. We are also still aware of the mask laws and the fact that our dental health has been on the top of our minds. We all know the pandemic essentially shut down lots of the economy and really shut down the travel industry. Airlines are running less than half the flights they were and people are simply not legally allowed to travel for a vacation in most states. It is a major game-changer for the lifestyle of Americans. But soon that will change and we are seeing that consistently now throughout the country. Social distancing rules will still be in place, but most individuals will get back to their normal travel styles and vacations will be alive and kicking once again. So one thing that gets overlooked on vacations is one of the key basic hygienic parts of living and that’s your teeth. It is an area that is simply neglected the most when people go on vacation. I know how important dental health is now and we are all trying to keep up with incredible breath thanks to all the masks. So here are a few tips to stay on top of your mouth health this year while traveling.
It starts with the most basic thing and that is to make sure you are still brushing and have a toothbrush. It is simply a habit you need to make sure you have in place. Pack all of your bathroom supplies the day before you go or actually get excited about purchasing a new travel kit. My family goes and gets a new set of travel toothbrushes and it is a fun ordeal.

The last time I got a fun Lucas arts-themed one. These super awesome-themed toothbrushes and it was child-like and hilarious. The best part of the travel toothbrushes most comes with a suction cup on the bottom. Yes, it feels a bit childish, but it is actually very useful when staying at hotels or places that don’t have a toothbrush holder. Let’s be honest the toothbrush holders that go around the head of the brush are disgusting to use. They simply make a mess and leave your travel bathroom bag wet and filled with white paste. So go ahead get a travel brush and grab a high-quality travel toothpaste or just bring a regular tube of paste. It won’t be the end of the world to bring the normal one along.

It may seem a little silly, but try to actually eat healthy on vacation. Not only will your mouth thank you but you may end up with more energy and feel better to enjoy the vacation as well. It is definitely ok, to set aside some meals for delicious treats, but don’t eat candy the entire car ride or airplane trip. Also, make sure to brush your teeth after you do. It’s a travel kit right so you can bring it with you and keep yourself safe. Just remember to keep up with your regular routine and have a great time.
